New Greater Hamilton web media

Several new Greater Hamilton media websites have gone online which use the medium in innovative ways to keep us connected and informed.

Hamilton-ON.ca mashes together content from a plethora of local news sources into a convenient format; it also includes a really cool language translation feature.

Metropolitan Hamilton is a “Collaborative Innovation Network facilitating transformational thinking in the evolving Hamilton Metropolitan Region – comprising Ancaster, Dundas, Flamborough, Glanbrook, and Stoney Creek.”

OpenFile is a collaborative local news website that allows viewers to suggest a story by opening a “file”, after which a professional journalist is then assigned to the story to ensure stories are accurate and informative (though the community itself also contributes to the story). OpenFile Hamilton has launched, along with OpenFile sites for several other Canadian cities.
