Startup Drinks on a rooftop patio August 8th

Canada is a country blessed with four seasons. In the Spring we get to watch nature around us blossom and in the Fall the leaves change colour and provide us with another beautiful sight. Sure, in the Winter we might have to shovel some snow – but you know what more than makes up for it? Drinks on a patio in the Summer!

That’s why next month Startup Drinks will be making a bit of a temporary detour from the usual stomping grounds over at The Winking Judge to a place with a patio big enough for everyone to enjoy. The London Taphouse (@hamiltonlth) on Main and John Street has a wonderful rooftop patio, and we’ll be having the next Startup Drinks event there on Wednesday August 8th at 6:00pm until late. We did a pub night up on the same patio just over a year ago now, and it went over pretty well. If it rains that evening the event will still go on as there’s lots of room for us inside the building.

If you haven’t been yet StartupDrinks is a presentation-free and sponsorship-free monthly pub night for the startup and technology community in Hamilton to get together and talk casually over drinks. In the 10 months of doing the event so far we’ve had out entrepreneurs, software developers, students, lawyers, accountants, investors, recruiters, marketers and all kinds of other people with an interest in technology and startups in Hamilton.

Plenty of people “talk shop” at Startup Drinks and I’ve seen a few cool ideas come out of conversations that have happened at past events, but there’s no obligation to talk business, one of the best parts of Startup Drinks is getting to know other people in the community by just shooting the breeze over drinks.
