The Software Developer will build out features and functionality for our new platform. The individual must possess excellent knowledge of PHP and MySQL, and preferably the CodeIgniter PHP framework. Because he/she will work together on a small development team, he/she should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as time management capabilities.

This position is a six-month contract to start. The position is based in REfficient’s Hamilton office, but some flexibility to work from home may be possible.

Overall Responsibilities:
• Develop applications to agreed upon specifications within the required timeframe
• Review systems for completion and system performance objectives
• Work with others to troubleshoot and resolve defects and issues quickly and efficiently
• Assist with other business operations, as request

Requirements:
• Excellent knowledge of PHP and MySQL, working in a LAMP environment
• Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript
• Knowledge of CodeIgniter preferable
• 2-3 years of related experience
• College or university diploma in software development or computer science preferable
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, time management, prioritization abilities, and communication
• Ability to work as a member of a team as well as independently
• Positive, proactive, hardworking and able to handle a multitasking environment
• Professional image and conduct, with an emphasis on being responsive and ensuring quality
• Quickly adaptable to changing business needs and processes
