Golden Horseshoe Green Tech Runs One Day “Spy School”
(Hamilton, ON) – Golden Horseshoe Green Tech (GHGT) invites you to join them for their one day “Spy School” technology camp, and experience the real world of cyber-security and cyber-crime in a fun-filled afternoon of activities run by experts in the field. The activities offered in this event, by GHGT and other community partners, are designed to provide hands-on experience with ethical hacking, digital investigation and computer forensics, fingerprinting, defense mechanisms against cyber-bullying, green screen effects, and many others.
This unique and exciting event is entirely free, and is being offered to the Hamilton community for the first time, in partnership with the Hamilton East Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club, Mozilla, Infotransec, the Toronto Hive, Hamilton Police Services, and the Hamilton YWCA. Funding for this event has been provided by the Trillium Foundation and the Mozilla Foundation.
The activities offered during this event have been designed for participants aged 10-15, but GHGT welcomes all youngsters and their parents to take part in this intellectually stimulating day. GHGT will also offer a unique parents learning session, outlining safe internet practices, modern surveillance techniques used by the government and leading internet service providers, and other investigative techniques used in the modern digital world.
Please come and join us on Saturday, September 7th, from 1:00pm-4:30pm, at the Hamilton East Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club, located at 45 Ellis Avenue, Hamilton. Admission is free, and interested participants can register by calling 905-581-1108, or by visiting http://ghgt-and-mozilla-bring-you-spy-school-sept-7th2013.eventbrite.com/
