Cofounder dating
Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. Bill Gates and Paul Allen. Larry Page and Sergey Brin.
Great technology companies tend to result from great co-founders working together!
Over the last couple years we’ve had Startup Weekends in Hamilton to bring together people with different skills to work on new startups over a 48-hour period. People call it “cofounder dating”. We’ve had new startups like Walkbug (@Walkbug) come out of Startup Weekend, and the next event is being planned for April 2014.
But what about something between then and now?
Innovation Factory (@itbeginswithIF) is running a new event called Cofounder Dating this month. Startup companies at this event will give pitches describing their business or technology need. Business and software specialists in attendance will be able to talk to these startups afterwards about partnering together to fill that need. The companies at this event won’t be looking for “free software development work”, they’ll be looking for technical co-founders.
If you’re looking at working as a technical co-founder at a startup but don’t have an idea yet this may be the event for you!
When: Thursday November 14 2013 from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Where: McMaster Innovation Park (Innovation Destination) @ 175 Longwood Road South
Reach out to John Hartnett at coop@innovationfactory.ca to register for the event!
