We’re Crowdfunding for Hamilton’s $230K Welcome Sign!
We just put up our own Crowdfunding Campaign over on fundhamont.com and thought that we’d post this here for our readers…
Okay, I’m asking for the whole #HamOnt community to step-up and show our own City Hall, our community and yes the globe just what we can do on our own….raise funds to help pay for our own Hamilton sign!
What are we talking about?
Why are we trying to raise funds and is this something that we – the citizens of #HamOnt – can do to help our city fund our first sign to welcome people to Hamilton and in time for the 2015 PanAm Games?
Are we alone in this though?
Hardly….the point of us Hamiltonians making our own donations to fund the “Welcome to Hamilton” sign has been a major vision by our own Laura Babcock, who yes has approached the city and asked to help fund our new sign! And yes, we hear that others have also offered to help with this citizen-engaged sign project…from making offers of funds to helping with the acutal building of same! We encompass that whole city-wide engagement….
And while our City Council has been “slow off the mark” to get things going, we know that this is an initial Campaign that we can get started to help fund our sign.
Agree and want to help?
If so, then here’s what any #HamOnt citizen who might want to help has to know…
- If you contribute to this crowdfunding campaign, you can do so either anonymously or by name…
- If you contribute to this crowdfunding campaign, you can be assured that all funds less costs will be added to the total funding immediately.
- If you contribute to this crowdfunding campaign, you will play a role however big or small, in contributing to our city’s brand imaging too!
- And should the city NOT go ahead with the sign, all contributions will be refunded too!
And yes, there’s press out on us already!
