Media launch for first ever Hamilton Mini Maker Faire
The Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology and Hammer City Makers invite Hamilton media to a preview of Hamilton’s first Mini Maker Faire coming to Hamilton in June.
The museum will be host a Media Launch On Sat. May 9th at 10 a.m. to announce their upcoming Mini Maker Faire.
The event will provide a preview of the June 21st Maker Faire and hopefully generate interest from local vendors and makers to participate.
Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these “makers” come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.
The inaugural Maker Faire was hosted in 2006 by Maker Media (publishers of Make Magazine). Since then, the event has grown worldwide. In 2013, 98 independently-produced Maker Faires occurred around the world, including Tokyo, Paris, Santiago, New York, San Francisco and Toronto.
