Hamilton Blockchain | Legislative Update: Adding Crypto to the Rulebook with Outlier Canada

Last month at the Community Speaker Series, Rodney MacInnes from Outlier Canada presented an AML Legislative Update primer to our group. After Rodney spent countless hours transposing, simplifying, and explaining the over 200 page legislative document – a 15 minute presentation just wasn’t enough time to get into the thick of the changes.
We’re welcoming Rodney back to fill us in on some of the finer details of the regulation changes which include items such as:
– expanding Money Service Businesses to include virtual currency.
– defining virtual currency as a digital representation of value.
– representations of value for investment purposes such as ICOs, private keys, and digital wallets.
– no longer requiring an identity document that is relied upon to be original, but instead accepting valid, authentic, and current documents.
– and many more key updates that will affect how businesses and society interact with virtual currencies.
