Precursor Games (@PrecursorGames) social manager Phil Haymes (@PhilHaymes) posted the following status update on the firm’s web forums on Saturday January 18th, indicating that the Shadow of the Eternals project is still under consideration:

Firstly, we wish to thank everyone for their on-going support and presence on the forums and our Facebook page and to the guys running the Order 333 podcast. It’s been inspiring and an extremely positive influence during our break away from the project.

Aaron, Denis and I have slowly begun coming out of slumber and the wheels are starting to turn again. We should be around more on the forums in the near future and hope to be able to interact more with you all.

We’ll be continuing to upgrade and keep the forums running and we’re taking a look at where the SOTE project is at, potential options and directions for the future as well as going over lessons learned from the campaigns.

We very much intend to keep the project alive and get back to production but please understand that there probably won’t be any major news or update for a while yet. We’ve got a lot of work ahead to understand the options available to us going forward and to do the best thing by the game.

So please, continue to frequent and post in the forums. We’d encourage more participation again within the Order of the Unseen such as creature designs, ideas for the game and lore.

We believe we have a powerful story to tell, we believe that the game deserves to be played by you all and whilst it may take some time to get all our ducks lined-up, know that we’re still here and rumors of SOTE’s death are greatly exaggerated.

The project was also brought up during the Q&A session of a recent talk by Dennis Dyack at the University of Waterloo:
