Lion’s Lair Finalists Named

Ten local companies will be pitching live for a chance to win up to $75,000 in cash prizes at the LiONS LAIR this fall.

Fifteen semifinalists were narrowed down to 10 after the first round of judging, which featured pitches and interviews with industry experts from KPMG, Gowling WLG and Jan Kelley.

Those 10 companies will go on to compete in the final round of the competition at the awards gala in September.

LiONS LAIR, an annual competition presented by Innovation Factory in collaboration with the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and Hamilton Economic Development, first took place in 2011 with pre-taped pitches aired at the gala. This year marks the first time finalists will pitch live on stage to the ‘LiONS’, a panel of seasoned investors, and attendees from the Hamilton business and startup communities.

Winners will be chosen by the Lions and revealed at the gala on Sept. 26.

Tickets for Lions Lair, hosted by Innovation Factory, are on sale now.
