The Ontario Government has organized a number of events in support of Ontario companies to recover and/or further develop their interprovincial and international markets as a means to get back to business. This includes 1-on-1 export advice, webinars focused on market/sector intelligence, and facilitation of international/interprovincial business connections.  In this edition:

September 9: LatAm Conference 7.0 on North America and Latin America
LatAm Startups is aiming to bridge the global tech ecosystem through their LatAm Conference 7.0 on September 9. This online event will introduce speakers from the startup ecosystems in Latin America and North America, market entry experts, and scaleups. With a special networking tool within the conference platform, participants will be able to connect with the key players from all over the world. In addition, participants will be able to learn about the newest trends in tech & innovation, and get tips on market entry strategies. A representative from the

September 10Opportunities in India’s Healthcare Sector
The Ontario government is organizing a one-hour webinar outlining opportunities associated with selling medical equipment, devices and technologies to India. A growing population of 1.3 billion people, rising incomes, an increase in the prevalence of disease, and popularity of medical tourism are driving medical investments in India. Due to its strong market potential, investment in India’s healthcare infrastructure is set to rise, benefiting hospitals, healthcare R&D and healthcare education in the country. The Indian market for medical device technology and medical products is thriving and is forecast to rise to $65 billion (US$50 billion) by 2025. Participants will learn about current trends in the healthcare industry, insights on how to effectively penetrate the Indian market, and opportunities to showcase their products and services at Indian trade shows such as Medical Fair India. September 14-17: Virtual Broadcasting Technology Mission to Europe
The Ontario government is planning a virtual program to support Ontario technology companies engaged in content delivery, distribution, as well as production and related technologies with business development throughout Europe. The program will be centered around (1) a customized B2B matchmaking program delivered by a locally engaged B2B consultant and supported by the Ontario Trade and Investment offices in London (UK), Paris (France) and Munich (Germany) and (2) an exclusive web-seminar consisting of market briefings and presentations by leading industry players and stakeholders focused on key opportunities in the broadcast technology sector in markets across Europe. Joining the mission represents an excellent opportunity for Ontario companies to get access to key industry players including new customers and potential technological partners. September 22: Ontario Virtual Fintech Export Business Mission to India
The Ontario government is organizing a 1.5-hour virtual trade mission with a focus on India’s fintech sector. The move toward digital payments is quickly growing in India, fueled by customer demand, online sales, non-banking payment institutions, government initiatives like Digital India, and the country’s status as one of the largest mobile phone markets in the world. The fintech software market is forecast to double from the current $1.6 billion to $3.2 billion this year. The session will cover the latest developments in India’s fintech strategy, details on the country’s appetite for financial technologies, and advice on how Ontario fintech companies may gain access to the Indian market. The event will also feature a pitch session in which export-ready Ontario companies will have the opportunity to showcase their technologies to potential Indian buyers. September 28 – October 1: Ontario Virtual ICT Export Business Mission to ConnecTechAsia 2020 in Singapore (2 spaces left)
The Government of Ontario is organizing a virtual trade business mission to ConnecTechAsia 2020, Asia’s largest and most established international ICT event in the region based in Singapore. It encompasses three unique co-located shows with each showcasing new innovation from various tech industries-ranging from broadcast to information and communications and other disruptive technologies. October 12-17: Ontario ICT Virtual Export Business Mission to India Mobile Congress
The Ontario government is accepting expressions of interest for a virtual export business mission to India Mobile Congress in New Delhi. The virtual trade show, scheduled for Oct. 15-17, 2020, is organized by the Cellular Operators Association of India and the Department of Telecommunications in India. India Mobile Congress aims to be a platform for industry, regulators and policy makers to discuss and deliberate on critical issues affecting the growth and proliferation of the telecom and technology sectors. Ontario companies participating in the mission will receive targeted assistance from the Ontario government, including B2B meetings, connections to leading telecom companies, systems integrators and other partners, market intelligence and briefings on the ICT/telecom industry in India, and access to potential networking events at the trade show. November – December: Ontario Virtual Fintech Business Mission to Japan
Ontario fintech companies working in Japan’s 9 fastest-growing Fintech subsectors (Paytech, Insurtech, Single Sign-on & Secure remote data access, Wealth & Asset management, Robo-advisors for consumers and portfolio managers, Compliance with regulations such as obligation for know your customer (KYC), Blockchain technology application, Social financing (linking lenders and borrowers), and AI financing (trustworthiness of borrowers calculated over collected data) are invited to participate in the mission. Mission members will attend a web pitch session in November, to Japanese major banks, securities and financial organization, fintech solution integration & distribution partners, and participate in customized online B2B program with potential clients and partners in early December. November 9-13: Virtual Africa Com 2020
The Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade in partnership with the Canadian High Commission Trade Office in Johannesburg, South Africa, is organizing Ontario ICT virtual mission to Africa Com 2020, which will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, November 9-13, 2020. AfricaCom is the largest and most influential Africa-focused technology and ICT event in the world and serves as a meeting place for those driving Africa’s digital transformation. It is made up of 500 brands who showcase their solutions across 3 days and attracts 13,000 visitors, and 500 exhibitors from over 140 countries. Being a virtual sponsor and exhibitor will allow you to interact with all attendees with a meeting schedule system, a feature that includes setting up video calls and lead scoring so you can qualify the conversations in your follow up. November: Ontario Gaming Mission to 2020 MEGA/MIGS
Ontario government, in partnership with Interactive Ontario, will be organizing a virtual trade mission to Montreal Expo Gaming Arcade (MEGA)/Montreal International Game Summit (MIGS) in November 2020. MEGA/MIGS is the only conference in Canada for over 15 years devoted to the video game industry as a whole. MEGAMIGS 2020 will be a very special online edition with virtual booth, live programming, a networking platform and a variety of activities. And much more! December 6-10: GITEX 2020
The Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade is considering an Ontario ICT virtual mission to GITEX 2020, which will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. At this point there is no official decision to confirm participation, we are in the phase of collecting companies’ interests. GITEX is the 3rd largest technology event in the world, and the most important week in the annual tech calendar in the MENA region. In 2019, the event attracted over 4,500 exhibitors and 100,000 professionals from 140 countries. For 40 years, GITEX has been the world’s gateway to the innovation-driven markets of Middle East and North Africa. By connecting businesses to a comprehensive buyer market, GITEX has helped seed government transformations and the collaborations of tomorrow, for years to come. December 7-11:  Ontario Virtual ICT Export Business Mission to the Singapore Fintech Festival 2020
The Government of Ontario is organizing an export business mission to the Singapore Fintech Festival (SFF), one of the largest gatherings of the global FinTech community in the world.  According to the inaugural Global Fintech Index City Ranking 2020 report, Singapore is the fintech leader in Asia Pacific (APAC) and the fourth top fintech city in the world. SFF is organized by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), the leading financial regulator.  In partnership with the Association of Banks in Singapore and SingEx Holdings, the festival was supported by Deloitte, Google Cloud, GIC and Prudential.  In 2019, MAS and the central bank of Singapore renewed cooperation on Fintech with Canadian Securities Regulators and the trade show saw over 60,000 participants from 140 countries.
